Egret for ID

Hi. Spotted this today, TA, Israel.

If this is just a Cattle Egert, is there anything odd about its plumage?

I'm referring to the darker, chest upwards plumage.

The soot suggestion sure makes sense.
But is it a Cattle Egert then?
The bill seemed a bit too slenderish IMHO.
