Another two pictures of Lord Howe Woodhen (1 Viewer)

Hi Chris.

Actually we did have an Opus photograph of this species. The problem was that the scientific name for both the links were wrong so your calling it to our attention got it fixed ;) Thank you very much ;)

Just noticed 2 more pics of this rare (less than 250?) bird:

Apart from Swissboy's images, I think there's only one other picture in the gallery (might be labelled Lord Howe Moorhen)

Why Moorhen? It usually runs under the names of either Woodhen like in the new edition of the Slater FG. Or it's called Wood-Rail as that is where it belongs systematically .

There should by now be a total of five pictures of the same individual that I uploaded. I have pictures of a second (unbanded) one, but of lesser quality as it was in the forest. Also, I mostly took video sequences in that case.

Also thanks for correcting my wrong spelling of the genus. Looks like there is a mistake in the new Slater FG. That's the origin of my Gallirallis name, when it should apparently be Gallirallus.

I have since uploaded my short video of the same individual. And while I was recording, it suddenly started to call. That was pure luck as it was the only time I heard it. There is some wind noise, but I still like it.

There is a link on the opus page under the name Lord Howe Rail. But here is the direct link to the BFTV page: http://birdforum.tv/members/action/viewvideo/2315/Lord_Howe_Rail_calling_while_foraging/

However, I'm not happy with the quality there. Because of this, the same video is now also on YouTube:

Make sure you use the 480p setting for maximum quality.
