From the 54 qualifying entries 30 have been selected for members to vote upon.

Please vote for your favourite entry for the theme - Mammals, Reptiles and Amphibians

or
2. Slideshow

Voting will take place over the next seven days after which entries will be moved to their respective forums.

Agreed really unusual and interesting images. Very hard to come down to 3 never mind 1. Best of luck to all.

Thanks, Ian. Difficult vote - all the finalists submitted excellent images.

Announcing the winners of the June 2008 photo competition

The theme this month was Mammals, Reptiles and Amphibians.

Maybe not such a popular theme after all with only 78 members casting their vote - around half the figure of last month!

Voting was always pretty close though the winner led from early on.

First place goes to

jimclean with Humpback breach with 12/78 votes

Second place -

John M with Fish
Supper attracting 10/78 votes.

Third place -

robbyuk with Red
Deer attracting 8/78 votes.

Congratulations to the winners

The entries will remain in place a few days before being moved to their respective forums.

It's a great thrill to have won, especially against such a selection of great photos. Thanks to all who voted for my image.

I'm assisting research into the impact of whale watching on whales, so that meaningful guidelines or legislation can be enacted to ensure that whales aren't harmed or stressed - much like the gallery guidelines that birdforum operates under.

That also means I'll probably be posting more whale photos over the coming months.

Just back from a weeks holiday to find that I came second in the June competition. Thank you to all who voted, the winning picture is spectacular and a deserved winner, well done Jim !!
Hard to compete with a breaching whale when you only have a picture of a Mink and not a Minke !
Thanks again.
John.
