Photoshop CS2 out soon (1 Viewer)

I noticed Adobe accidentally had a page running on their site yesterday announcing details of Photoshop CS2....it didn't last long though, seems someone jumped the gun in publicising it.

New features include a totally new sharpening system, giving a lot of fine control such as shadow/highlight sharpening. A Noise reduction feature is also included. Some tweaks to some of the other tools, notably the 'healing' tool.

Looks as if Adobe have finally had enough of pirate copies... you may need to connect to Abobe every time you start the programme. Seems a bit drastic and a nightmare for users in the field.

Release in May

Cheers,
Andy

A lot of people also keep a seperate computer just for internet access to keep the danger of virus, spyware, etc., away from their main pc, so they'll not be buying the new version in a hurry, I should think.

I wonder how much Adobe and Microsoft actually 'lose' to pirate copies - on the assumption that most individual users wouldn't pay the full price of over £500 each for 'CS' and 'Office' anyway.

It would be interesting to know how much camera makers pay Adobe for each copy of 'Elements' that's bundled with cameras, etc. - my copy came 'free' with a scanner that cost less than £240, yet at the time the seperate programme was about £70 in the shops!
