My birding adventures in the north east (1 Viewer)

at the weekend I went to the wooded area beside Monymusk.
The largest surprise for me was the presence of what appeared to be a breeding pair of Black swans. meadow pipit,Grey heron, and either bank or water vole were in abundance. I heard quite a few greater spotted woodpeckers, but ,just as they have for the last few years, the birds eluded me.

also, does anyone know where I have a good chance of seeing Common kingfishers in the North east?
