New Forest - Hampshire UK (1 Viewer)

Had a productive weekend birding in the new forest in early June, targets being Honey Buzzard and Goshawk. Luckily we managed to pick both of them up after visiting certain raptor viewpoints (not sure if I can publicise, shouldn't be too hard to find online). We also managed Hobby and Peregrine at these viewpoints. Other birds of note were Redstart, Spotted Flycatcher and Firecrest at Fritham. A great experience were the two Dartford Warblers less than a meter away from the path in an area of vast gorse (vague I know, just can't remember where!) and two woodlarks to join them. Stonechats frequented almost every area of heather (Ashley walk etc) and pipits were also common. All in all a great trip, well worth a return next year, with a range of Hampshires coastline yet to be explored....
