I'm sure its between Ruddy and Common Darter - I'll let the experts say which one it is for certain. I'll favour Ruddy just because of how red it is - but could be wrong.

It's a Common Darter, Sympetrum striolatum, based on the leg colour which is not completely black and the 'stripes' on the side of the thorax which would be all brown (no stripes) in the case of the Ruddy Darter.

I have to agree, it is a Common Darter, and a bloody good picture as well.
