Good game boys, good game!
Just got back from 5 days on the coast near Tywyn. Not sure quite what the status' of most of these birds are in the area, but highlights included Chough (c.15 from 2 groups of birds); 2 Little Egret, 2 Common Sandpiper and 21 Goosander on the estuary just north of Tywyn (the latter were there last year as well); Manx Shearwater offshore most days, with a Balearic Shearwater, small raft of unidentified ducks and a probable Cory's Shearwater which I was very annoyed not to have pinned down, all on 7th. Does anybody know what the status of Cory's is in the area?

Hi Jimmy,

A good haul of records. Little egrets are more common along the coast of north wales and therefore scarcer in cardigan bay area. Balearic Shearwaters are worthy of sending to the county recorder. Cory's shearwater is quite rare and will almost certainly require a description. Again contact the county recorder to check if this is the case. As for the ducks offshore they are most likely to be Common Scoters.

Yes. Even if you do not submit the record, it will allow the county recorder to alert other local birders to keep an eye out for it. Its really up to you if you want to submit it tho.
