I'm in the unusual situation of having a Saturday to myself without wife and children. Obviously I'm planning a day's birding. I read on the Ayrshire birding site that the ferry from Ardrossan to Arran can make for good birding maybe including storm petrels (missing from my life list). Is it too late in the year for this to be a worthwhile jaunt?
