would have slightly lower transmission than an 8.5x

Yup. And I don't quite understand why people *still* refer to Allbino's figures on transmission. Quite a few of their results are so clearly way, way off that I don't trust their figures really.

Gijs' figures seem me to be much more reliable.

The reason I referred to them on these two is the 8.5 with the same objective size as the 10 having higher transmission didn't make sense to me.
