wheatear, uk ? (1 Viewer)

To help a bit more ,Les.
The head is blackish brown, and the blackish extends down the chest ..From the bill downwards is a white line that widens and stops at the neck. There is an obvious white eyering.
It is also a longish, skinny looking bird and overall not very colourful.
Wheatears are fat dumpy looking by comparison, and are generally more colourful than the drab colours of Reed Bunting. They don't tend to sit in trees preferring the ground, but will occasionally perch on more open bits, never as far in as this bird.Whereas Buntings love to be in bushes ,though they will also perch in more open areas:eek:n top of wires, walls, etc.
