Staying in a cottage on the levels in Somerset does anyone know how to see the Starlings and best place to park, RSPB have an event on 15th Jan but it is fully booked, is it possible to follow this group any help appreciated going this fri leaving mon

RSPB Ham Wall and the neighbouring Natioanl Nature Reserve at Shapwick Heath are the best places I think, there is a starling 'hotline' that says where they have been on recent evenings- details here

http://www.rspb.org.uk/reserves/guide/h/hamwall/

The RSBP event looks like a dawn one but I don't think that either reserve 'closes' so, if you want to see the evening display, follow the RSPB directions and park at the car park on the Meare-Ashcott Road - you've then got the choice of which way to go.

Good luck

Roberta
