Due to a change in flight timings I now find myself with a day to spare in Muscat (Oman) on the way to Nepal. My intention is to spend the time I have birding. It sounds as if the area round Muscat is undergoing a lot of changes at the moment so would welcome suggestions of good places to go birding within a couple of hours drive of the airport. A long shot I know but are there any reliable sites for Crab Plover and Grey Hypocolius near Muscat? Can anyone recommend a bird guide in Muscat and if possible supply contact details? Thanks.
