Do the FL series have a metal body, covered by polycarbonate & "rubber", or are they polycarbonate & rubber?

Jay,
It's glass-fiber reinforced polyamide. This chart tells the differences between the two materials. Polyamide is more flexible, less brittle, than polycarbonate, and relies on the glass fiber content for most of its rigidity. In his "Truth..." writeup, Steve Ingraham says the glass fiber alignment, and content, varies in different parts of the FL body, to give stiffness where alignment is paramount, and flexibility where impact stresses are expected. The rubber is an outer covering. I'm curious as to how the composite material is bonded to the metal parts, like the hinge.
