As Docmartin hasn't posted anything yet I'll be cheeky and report that the current edition of 'BB' is a cracker. It also informs several recent threads on BF.
First there's an interesting account of the colonisation of the Coto Donana by Eagle Owl and its impact on conservation issues. Its suprisingly similar situation to the UK situation with a suspicion that the birds were introduced by a human agency. Then there's a full account of the successful action to increase breeding pairs of Bittern - always a species of interest here. There's a good obituary of Simon Aspinwall (whose passing was noted here). Finally there are various interesting notes and the announcement of the 'BB/BTO' Bird Book of the Year. It's a sad comment on my financial resources that I haven't got the winner (Reed & Bush Warblers) or any of the runners up!
