Minor addition on …

nataliae as in:
● the subspecies Natalie's Sapsucker Sphyrapicus thyroideus nataliae MALHERBE 1854 (here) as "Picus Nataliae" a k a "Natalie's Williamson's Sapsucker" (!)
= Mademoiselle (Miss) Natalie Kaup (born 1835), at that time 19-year-old daughter of Johann Jacob Kaup (1803–1873) German zoologist, paleontologist, systematist etc. etc..

Her full name was Caroline Natalie Rosalie Kaup. In 1857 she married Gebhard August Eduard Zernin (1830–1914), thereafter a k a Mrs. Natalie Zernin. They had at least one Son, the Painter Heinrich Zernin (1868-1951) …

No death year found.

However; enjoy!

The Eponym Dictionary of Birds claims:
Natalie's Sapsucker ssp. Sphyrapicus thyroideus nataliae Malherbe, 1854 [Alt. Williamson's Sapsucker ssp.]
Miss Natalie Kaup (DNF) was the daughter of German ornithologist Johann Jakob von Kaup (q.v.).

So the question is still when died Caroline Natalie Rosalie Zernin née Kaup?
