1DX 2 Battery issues. (1 Viewer)

I have just discovered those crafty folk at Canon have been at it again!
My Hahnel LP-4 battery equivalent worked perfectly with the 1D4,started by telling me it couldn't communicate with the 1DX but works, it just doesn't give a charge level however, the 1DX2 doesn't even turn on when I have tried to use it.

So beware if you need to buy a back up battery, it looks like it has to be Canon.

I've just tried a third party (7 Dayshop) battery and the camera turns on OK.

It does ask whether the battery is Canon, I didn't proceed any further but I'm guessing you can carry on at your own risk.

I'll buy a genuine spare shortly.

Regards.

Tried my Hahnel again and it definitely doesn't work in the Mk2 but fine in the Mk1 so it has to be a camera block. The supplied Canon battery costs £149 to buy a spare, mind you the charger is an eye watering £369 so you don't want to damage that.
