where are the hummingbirds? (1 Viewer)

I have had multiple failures at attracting hummingbirds to my garden. What am I doing wrong? I live in Orlando Fla and have Cardinals, Blue Jays ( they are not so nice to the Cardinals) doves, so on and so on. Have 2 types hummingbird nectar feeders, so far nothing... :eek!: need help.

I know up here (in southern Minnesota) we get early transients then an occaisional visitor thru summer, then in late july or early august through the first week in october we get tons of hummers....when I see them now, it isn't at my feeders, they are skimming along branches of elms and other trees going for bugs. Perhaps their sweet tooth isn't as sever as one would have thought? My parents live in Georgia, their hummers are slack to the feeders during the summer months also...presumably, again, that it is protein they crave at this time, not the sugar.
Just an observation on my part.
