Another Zeiss Victory FL 8x32 versus 8x42 question (1 Viewer)

I've sold my Swarovski ELs due to the lack of eye relief with my glasses. The Victory FL 8x32 is leading the pack but the 8x42 would give better low light capability. I thought I read somewhere the focal length of the 8x32 causes it to have more eye relief than the 8x42. I'd like the 8x42 but eye relief is paramount. Is this correct? Thanks.

I really don't think that is right. It does have a wider FOV...maybe that's what you read?

32mm bins usually have LESS ER than larger bins.

This is because to keep the same f/number objective the objective focal length has to be shorter so for the same magnification the ocular focal length has to be shorter too. Doing that and keeping a long ER is more of a challenge (and easier than it was in the past with Kellner oculars) as ER often scales with focal length in simple oculars.
