kelp gulls and LBB gulls (1 Viewer)

Compared to Lesser Black-Backed, Kelp is stockier with a thicker more bulbus tipped bill, black mantel which is even darker than GBB, dull greenish legs, shorter primary projection and broader white trailing edge to wings. In many ways, Kelp is like Western Gull in shape but closer to LBB in size. Also the long call dislay is different; LBB holds head up at 80 or 90degrees. Kelp holds head at about 40 degrees much like GBB.
