Shot this hawk today near the 3 corners area where Wyoming, Utah, and Idaho meet.
Stumped on the ID.

Red-tailed Hawk. Looks similar to what's described as the "Intermediate Rufous Morph" though a rather dark example. Nice shot of a lovely bird.

Thanks Jim. I was leaning towards a Red-Tailed. Even wondered about a Harlan's Red-Tailed. It really burns me, he sat on that post for almost 30 seconds and I didn't flip my camera and ended up cutting his tail off:-C
