I went to BTO Birdtrack to enter my record on there and guess which bird is shown on the home page ....but of course that isn't for Wales alone.

Well it would have to be bring your own tent, cos I only have a one-bedroomed bungalow! ;)

BTW - no sign of him yesterday, although I wasn't looking all the time of course. Hope he's okay. I sent my sighting to the County Recorder but haven't had an answer, so I guess it's probably not that exciting after all.

wouldn't say that, unfortuately they've been declining a lot in the UK, anyone seeing them should be excited ;)

think I'm very lucky to have them on my doorstep, although the BTO pages show their breeding range mostly on the West side of the country I've seen them in this part of Herts in small numbers for as long I've lived here.

one of those birds where all records should be sent to county recorders o:)
