Goldfinch with growth under eye (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know what the growth on this Goldie is? I wondered about Avian pox but not really sure. Thanks.

I think it could be a tick as well. I remember seeing a Song Thrush (being ringed) with a tick near its eye, not as big as that though. Ticks like to go near the eye since it is very hard for the bird to pick them off with their beaks. Hopefully the tick dropped off and the Goldfinch was alright.
