wifi webcams (1 Viewer)

I am looking into getting a couple web cams to have live video feeds from a bird house and bird feeders at an elementary school. Because it is a school it is very hard to have the cameras wired so I want wifi. I know some cameras could be hooked up to solar panels as a power source. That would help also to introduce solar power to the students as well as wildlife studies.

What is the best camera I could find to get this project working and what all would be involved in setting it up?

Does anyone know of a good wifi camera to watch bird nest or feeders? It does not have to be a nestbox. I don't really know how they work and need advice.

There are a whole host of different cameras to pick from a Google for "IP Cameras" will lead you to many retailers. You will need an outdoor housing but you can have fixed or pan and tilt and a variety of mega-pixels and Infra red. They are all basically aimed at the security market rather than wildlife. You can have wired or wireless but the wireless ones still need power and are restricted by the reach of your wifi network. You can go solar but you a talking a large set up as they need quite a bit of power. Thanks. Our courtyard is enclosed in the center of the school so I think the wifi should be fine there. A power source is the problem. I have one outside plug that was added for our pond pump. I don't think there is any way to run an electrical cord from outside to inside the school, especially if I need to change the location of the camera. I would need a camera that can film close up too, so to focus on a nest from a few feet away.
