Gotta Love Those Mad Muskies
.
Sweet scent of honey wafts
on warm golden rays
familiar friendly demented orchestral tunes
what a beautiful way to start the day
Little glimpses of luminescent green
hidden leaf sized gems in the canopy
a struggle to be hardly seen
purple rabbi's cap over crimson splash, the only give away
Gentle metallic tinking trilling
each like a thimble down wooden stairs
draws another nutter to the gathering
secure group comfort, random buzz even more thrilling
"Look what I have found!"
precious drops of nectar framed by creamy flowers
iridescent green bullets streak towards
the target feast from all around
Like some carnival side show
screeching bobbing up and down, up and down
once again and turning to and fro
"This blossom's mine!" harshly proclaiming they sing
Bob and squawk and bob n shriek twice more
decibel contest of who can screech the loudest score
shrill bob, hang upside down, squawking heavy metal racket
like a noisy neighbour's riot, party in full swing
Amassed mad bobbing squawking cacophony
joined by another half a dozen pairs
each covets the others patch
aerial game of musical chairs
Hop over to pinch next doors treasure
the nectar is sweeter on the other side
thirsty glances envious searching stare
short fuse ready to snap, deranged red eyes glare wide
quintessentially gregarious such antics are hilarious
with unspoken understanding they're off like one
blurred collage of green high speed wings
headed for the sun
From under mauve cap, dash of fire engine red peeks
fleeting glimpse of underwing yellow, and safety orange beaks
wild red eyes and blindingly bright green wings
Vivid mad muskies, brilliant bling kings
visible not just for miles - but for weeks ....
Chosun :gh:
So I met this bloke with a didgeridoo and he was playing Dancing Queen on
it. I thought that's Aboriginal.
:t:
not sure I'd make it more than half way through before collapsing .... (either through lack of oxygen or laughter!) :-O
