Can anyone tell me if there are any changes to butterflies of Britain and Europe - Tolman and Lewington ( Collins ) in the second edition ? Is there a revised text or plates, or is it a straight reprint ?

I can't help you from personal knowledge, but you could try a web search of the publishers home site and see what they say about the second edition.

Hello Harry,

thanks for suggestion. Tried Collins website but still none the wiser. The information they give mentions no changes to the second edition, but i'm fairly sure they have just repeated what they said for the first edition - if that makes any sense ! Might try lepsUK email group to see if anyone knows on there,

tells you nothing of any changes. My guess is that they've redesigned the cover.
BTW I bought the Princeton University edition from amazon.co.fr which is soft cover and may be cheaper.

It's a separate edition but as far as I know it's identical to the UK first edition
