Talking Hello. :)

Hope you're all doing well! My name is Dawn, and I'm a 28 year old female (I refuse to call myself a woman, far too immature for that) from southwestern Ontario, Canada.

I have been interested in birds (and nature in general) since I can remember. I remember one of my favourite things to do as a kid was drive around country roads in the middle of nowhere with my brother, who is also somewhat of a nature nut, looking for deer in the fields, foxes, hawks and eagles, etc.

It wasn't until I was an adult though that I really discovered how exciting it is to see a bird you've never seen before. In the past few years, my twin sister and I have started hiking together and we've seen all sorts of interesting birds that we didn't even know were in our area. She's got a decent camera, though it's a pretty basic one, and is a great photographer... much better than me. We love to just explore nature and photograph whatever we see. It's so exciting and yet so calming at the same time, to just be out in nature, admiring the beauty of creation. Some birds in-particular are so incredible, you'd think that their intricate designs were carefully painted by an artist. Nature just amazes me.

We live very close to Point Pelee National Park and go there a few times each Spring. We couldn't go for this past spring's migration, for personal reasons, but it's something we look forward to every year. I'm already excited for next year!

Anyway, nice to meet you all.

Hi Lumi and a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I'll look forward to reading about what you see when out and about.
