Yellow Bird in Pennsylvania (1 Viewer)

I don't have a photo to assist ID'ing here, but hopefully a little description will suffice.

Outside my window in a flowerbed, I spotted a small, bright, uniformly yellow bird that I've not noticed here before. I thought it was a yellow warbler, and it might well have been, but it hovered around like a humming-bird. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a hummingbird though, as it had a shorter beak. Do warblers hover around this way as well sometimes? I was under the impression that warblers mainly flit around erratically, and though this bird would do that a bit, it would regularly stop moving and sort of hover in place. If anyone has any idea what the bird might have been, I would be grateful, thanks!

Yellow Warblers, and many other warblers, will hover glean insects from foliage. They will also flycatch, catching insects on the wing.

Most warblers, including Yellows, will hover occasionally and briefly if the hunting conditions require it.
