Older cameras still relevant? (1 Viewer)

Wanting to know what others think about older cameras and how they still perform in todays digiscoping world?
Just looking online I see one can find multiple Nikon P5100s for under $100 and in new condition. This is 1/10 what they were when new. Are cameras of this age and quality still useful in this time and day of digiscoping?
