Hi, what about the colour of this (right hand) 1st cy bird? Is it flavism or still in range of variation or does anybody know how juv. ssp. sibirica birds look like? Pics from 13. Aug. ´14, Baltic Sea; Eastern Germany.

Thank you - f.

Weird looking bird. sibirica are, to all intents and purposes, indistinguishable in the field so I can't really give an explanation of why the bird should look like it does. Flavism / leucism are possibilities.
