Hi All I took the photo of this Godwit on a very dull day and I wondered if there was any way to give the colours a boost as the photo looks very flat and dull,or is that what you are stuck with. Cheers Kath

I was about to have a go at this, but when i opened it on my computer, I thought the exposure was pretty good and the bird looked natural. After all, it's a fairly dull bird on a dull day.

You could try boosting the contrast a bit, I suppose, but beware of getting that "over-processed" look.

To me this is a good, natural shot. No need to mess with it.

I got rid of the colour cast and pulled the saturation up. It looks brighter but is it an accurate reflection of the godwit you saw, only you can tell.

A very nice shot as it is--sharp and well exposed with excellent color and gradation. I wouldn't touch it.

Love what you did Mono could you please tell me how you got rid of the colour cast I think the water looks a 100% better Cheers Kath

I used Adjustment > Curves in Photoshop. I just hit the Auto button and it worked fine, it often doesn't achieve the required effect and you need to tweak the colour channels to get what you want.

For me the original looks better than the other version by quite some margin.
I would like to think the original looks natural rather than insipid. Not trying to ruffle feathers, just my opinion.
