MAK will no doubt respond but I can confirm that Zeiss measure it in the same way as Leica.

Correct and I think you will find that most measure in the same way. Optics eye relief is from the last lens surface (ocular).

I posted a couple pics of them in the Biggest Week thread in the main forum too GG.
Thanks for the link, Bob. I could have sworn that Jan created a thread a few weeks ago breaking the news about a new 8x32 Trinovid, but then his thread mysteriously vanished. I'm glad to see that the news is true, and I'm looking forward to the reviews.
I sent an email yesterday to Leica to confirm FOV for the 8x32 Trinovid and explained it seems too narrow for 8x32 (matching the FOV of 8x42). They forwarded my email to a tech specialist and will get back to me.
I'll post their response here as soon as I get it.
I asked Leica and they stated that it is 124 meters for the 8x and 113 meters for the 10x.

Heavy for an 8x32, narrow FoV if the 372' measure is accurate, and priced above some of its competitors.
I'll pass, I'd either shoot for the Meostar HD, Conquest, Genesis, or even the Monarch Hg 42mm in this price range.
Outside the weight the Swaro Cl and this Leica are morer or less identical from specs and price, isnt it? How comes that these two "Alpha"-companies cant create top stuff at this interesting price point? After all, € 900 - 1000 is a lot of money and, as mentioned, one can get a lot of performance from the likes of Meopta, Kowa etc.

Too many vids, and ultras are no longer ultra, so it makes sense they consolidate down to Trinovid and Noctivid. My guess is Leica didn't want Trinovid challenging Ultravid so they limited its fov. Zeiss did something similar with the original Conquest which had both 8x30/8x40 at 120m and so didn't challenge the FLs at 140m (8x32) and 135m (8x42). But this just made the Conquests look undernourished with regard to objective size and FOV and todays Conquest HDs are much more competitive.
There have been rumours that Ultravid might discontinue in the next 2-3 years and if it did and was replaced by a new model with around 130m FOV then it would be intermediate between Trinovid at 124m and Noctivid 8x42 at 135m and preserve a hierarchy.
Just speculation.

Pretty sad if the FOV is only 372ft.......
