Good evening all,
We were out today in the flood plain north of the Bydgoszcz canal (north central Poland). We spotted what I think was a Marsh Harrier just hanging out in a tree overlooking the lowground. I would guess that Marsh Harriers wouldn't be here yet...thoughts? Have they returned yet?
There is of course a strong chance it could have been a female Hen Harrier. We saw 3 or 4 Hen Harriers today too.
Had a gray, streaked head with dark "eyeliner" though. Black-tipped tail, and overall chestnut brown on the back and wing coverts. A little white splashed on the shoulder. I couldn't see the chest or rump.
Any how, thoughts?
