In Xeno Canto, there are two recordings of this species from Honduras (XC303641 and XC302389) that sound very similar and which both present about 4 notes per unit of song. There is another from Nicaragua where the recorder writes that the bird started with 1-3 notes per song and ended with 10-12.
My question is this: can CAPO also give only one note per song and do that repeatedly? I heard one sounding very much list the Honduras recordings in Campeche, Mexico, near Calakmul, but it only gave one note each time it gave a sound. Alternatively, what are other likely causes of the sound?
This was heard on October 9 at Rio Bec Dreams at last light, so 10 minutes after sunset.
thanks
Niels
