Rare Bird Alert for the U.S. (1 Viewer)

I think it is NARBA (N. Am rare bird alert). You can read limited info on the site if you are not a subscriber. There may be another that I am not aware of.

Yahoo Groups has some great regional birding groups which include rare bird alerts. There are several counties I keep up with. Of course this will vary by region. I recently went to northern Cali and tried to check out their groups and they were quite infrequently used. There may be a group in your area that hosts a rare bird alert hotline phone number.

ABA has some great info. Here might also be a good option.

Best of luck.

Is there a United States version of the "Rare or Scarce birds spotted in the British Isles" yet?

Are you looking for RBAs specifically for the entire county, or areas close to you?

In any event, here is a list of regional RBAs for the US: http://birdingonthe.net/hotmail.html

You can also subscribe to the regional RBAs that interest you. However, most rare bird sightings are posted first to a regional listserv. You can view them here: http://birdingonthe.net/birdmail.html (scroll down) and also subscribe to the ones that interest you.

Hope this helps,
Jim
