Anyone know what type of bee this is, photographed in Alberta. Tks.

Hello JTF,

I don't recognise it. One of the problems with bees is that the same species can have different colour forms depending on which part of the world they come from.

You could try 'Googling' for Canadian or Northern US States for Websites dealing with bees. Beyond that I cannot help. Sorry. A very picturesque insect.

Try Bombus ternarius, Bombus huntii or Bombus rufocinctus (Possibly hunti)
