Here's a few birds from my trip this weekend to Waterton & Glacier and back home.

1) These grouse crossed the road in front of us in Waterton NP. Ruffed grouse?

2) Common Loon - juvenile non-breeding male? Also in Waterton.

3) Small birds at Logan Pass in Glacier NP. Not sure what they are...

4) Another small bird, this was near Sweetwater Lake in Glacier NP. Pretty late, so it was pretty dark.

6) Red-tailed Hawk? Also in Southern AB.

I can't help with the grouse, but I can confirm Common Loon, American Pipit, and juvenile Townsend's Solitaire. I think #5 is a juvenile Ferruginous Hawk.

Ferruginous Hawk has feathered tarsi, so it's not that. I would go with the old default Red-tail.

The grouse would be a Dusky Grouse in Waterton/Glacier.
