Tree Creeper in Harrogate City Centre (1 Viewer)

I've been at a conference in H'gate for the last couple of days. At about 1430 this afternoon I was walking with some people from the Majestic round to the conference centre, on the corner by the Moat House, and saw a tree creeper on the trunk of a large tree on the pavement. It was on the main trunk, quite low down, and seemed to have something in its beak that could have been a bit of catkin or a green caterpiller or bug of some kind. Unfortunately I was having rather a serious conversation with the person I was with and it would not have been appropriate to break off in mid-conversation to investigate more closely. Never seen a tree creeper quite so close to a town centre - is this usual? Any H'gate members seen this bird?
