Redshank Or Wood Sandpiper

Hi Guys n' Gals,
I have attached 3 pics of a bird I took at Rye Harbour, Sussex yesterday. I posted the middle shot in the Gallery as a Redshank this morning, and a new member from China reckons its a Wood Sandpiper. I haven't a clue, as the bird stayed quite distant, and nobody in the hide mentioned it could be something different. If it is a Wood sandpiper, it will be a first for me, but I'm not getting excited.

Yep Redshank - it's a very young bird, and it's amazing how they do resemble Wood Sands, even down to having a shorter and duller bill than normal. I was initially caught out by one of these at a reserve near me once!

Another for Redshank. As Jogresh says, the young birds can be very like Wood Sand, but nowhere near as elegant.
