The second highest number of views for a thread in this forum, and the forth highest number of posts to single thread in this forum, complete with intrigue and controversy. It is an instant Birdforum classic. :t: :t: :t:

If there are two 'firsts' (?!)involved, concerning even a raptor, for Northern Ireland, it better should be established well; negatively and positively. There is a fair share of emotion involved for several groups of people.

I agree Chris.

I've only just looked at this and haven't got through all the postings but I am defenitely for Monty's.

Things are moving;

NIBA Records Committee will recommend to the full NIBA Committee that
the
harrier you video'd at Ballycarry Bridge be accepted as an adult or
near
adult female Montagu's Harrier. As this predates the only existing
record of
this species, it would become the first accepted Montagu's Harrier in
Northern Ireland.

All the best"

Fascinating thread Keith.

Any tailpiece to report? ;)

I'm also wondering if there have been any other sightings of Montagu's since?

Cheers
