Putting The Art Back Into Birding... (1 Viewer)

Baber sketches are always great - let the infiltration continue! I had to go for a meeting with my "business advisor" the other day - they suggested I make a facebook page for my pictures, so here it is: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nick-Derry-Wildlife-Artist/156193037758726 don't forget to click the 'like' button! :)

Some good links thks morning. Very nice to see so much of your work together Nick. It's more impressive than ever. And thanks for the link to Mike Langman Phil. Those also are some very nice sketchbook pages.

Gaby,

Sorry. Can you be more specific? Which refers to art in birding?

:-C It was written in english ,and so quick ,I couldn`t remind me...as well

I hope it works better for you in the translation department! :cat:

As to "Putting The Art Back Into Birding?"

Am awaiting, finally, Broadband, instead of being horribly tethered through a mobile phone.

I updated my website.

http://philbaber.weebly.com/index.html

I think that counts on the thread!:cat:

"Warte, endlich, Breitband, statt schrecklich angebunden durch ein Mobiltelefon.

Ich meine Website aktualisiert. Ich denke, das zählt für den Thread!"

Enjoy what you all can of it. And be inspired to add to the Birding World, your sketches, artwork and "cleverness!" ;)B :)

Gute Nacht! Süße Träume! ;)

Good night, sweet dreams!

Hello Phil,

I now use fully the translator.
I've tried to stop with my English, well .... it is probably better that way.
I'm sorry if I caused confusion.
But as long as you can talk about it, laughing.
Thanks for the kind greetings in German.
I hope you do not have long to wait for your broadband and you press the Thumb.Und your website then I watch again in peace.

Have a greatfully day.

friendly greetings Gaby

It's as easy as this.

Explore, Infiltrate, Deliver.

ps Have there been any postings of field-sketchings of the Manchester Pied-Billed Grebe? No.:eek!:

Any artists who want to sketch and post in the vicinity? I hope so!
Better than some old Baber sketches of a long-gone bird from somewhere completely unrelated!

DRIP...DRIP...DRIP...:cat:

Hey Phil,
Bird staying put, Weather and health (the dreaded lurgy has me at the mo) permitting I hope to head over there this wknd for what would be a lifer.

Looking forward to the "5 Billed Grebe", as some punter called it! ;)

Make sure you get it placed somewhere when you've drawn it. Birdwatch for instance? B :)

Ps If you actually connect, and I hope that you do!

This is really criminal on my part. My stuff goes on for at least two pages.

Ah I see the problem. You have to blame this on Mike Woodcock! I didn't recall writing about woodcocks. But I do have a link to Mike's page. And I have mentioned Lars Jonsson. So Google put all that together and decided that my 250 or so posts with 300+ images all match 'Lars Jonsson Woodcock.' But I have no idea why they've chosen some of my images over others.

Just keeping the possibility alive...

ps Thanks to Martyn Hayes for doing this unprompted. Hope this gives more encouragement to those who are inspired to contribute to birding on the artistic front.
Managed to secure a copy of the 09 local report today.
Volunteered illustrations consisted mainly of re-used examples from the 90s! Used again and again...

Time to get in touch, and mobilise locals of an artistic bent?

Hope you can all do the same in some way?
