Scope: Nikon ED82 Angled
Eyepieces: MCII X39 wide
Adapters: srb-griturn swing out adaptor
Camera: Samsung NV3
Tripod: manfrotto neotec
Tripod Head: Manfrotto 701RC2

Scope: Swarovski ATS 80 HD
Eyepiece: Swarovski 30x and 20-60x
Adapter: Zeiss swing out camera adapter, modified with a Manfrotto sliding plate to fit the Swarovski scope's additional length.
Camera: Fuji F30 and Nikon Coolpix 8400
Tripod Head: Manfrotto 3157
Tripod: 055MF4

Remarks: This rig works a lot better than I can work it. I have a "thing" with adapters, I can't find one that works the way I think they should. I have four and they all have something wrong with them. Mostly, they wont hold their adjustment. If you bump one, check it because it will be out of adjustment.

Scope : Pentax PF80ED angled
Eyepiece: Pentax XW20X
Adaptor : Stepdown ring 49mm to 43mm
Tripod head : Manfrotto 701RC2
Tripod Amnova
Camera : Pentax DSLR K100D with a A50mm f:1.7 lens & M28mm F:1.8 lens

General comments: First started with the Accuter 65mm and the Casio P600, then bought the Pentax scope and then the K100D and then the different lenses. I am satisfied with the potential of this equipment. The vibrations of the mirror movement caused photos to blurred at the beginning but I have built a frame that attaches the DSLR firmly to the scope and relocates the point of balance of this system. Now the quality is close to perfect...

I thought I would revive this thread as I am sure there are people who, like me, have changed their equipment since originally posting and others who have only recently started digiscoping.

Here is the slightly different set up which I am currently using:

Scope: Nikon ED50
Eyepiece: Nikon 20x wide MC + 13-40 zoom as back up
Adapter: Slightly modified Olivon Universal Camera Adapter
Camera: Fuji F30
Tripod Head: Opticron 42700 (standard fit on tripod)
Tripod: Opticron 42704

Remarks: I chose this scope as I wanted one that was light and easy to carry but which could be used for digiscoping if required. If my main interest was digiscoping, I am sure a bigger 60 or 80mm scope would be better but the 50mm Nikon gives pretty good results. The main handicap now is the operator.;)

That's a good point. Everything is the same for me from previous post except scope is now TSN824. Currently has a 32x WA but soon to be replaced with a TSN 660 20-60x zoom.

My current setup is:
Canon A640, 10 MP camera
Nikon ED82 fieldscope
Nikon 30X WDS eyepiece
Home made adapter
Manfrotto tripod with Televue Telepod

Scope: KOWA TS613ED
Eyepiece: 20 Wide (TSE21WM)
Adapter: Hand-Held
Camera: Fuji F30 (with Xtend-a-view + Xtend-a-mount)
Tripod head: Manfrotto 390RC Junior
Tripod: Calumet CK6100 (Optitech strap)

Remarks: This combo works great for me, the Fuji works excellent hand-held, the lens is a perect fit to the eyepiece and there is no vignetting at all. Tripod is not too heavy for carrying all day and vibrations are a minumum.

cheers

Scope: Olivon T80
Eyepiece: Olivon 20x - 60x zoom
Adapter: Olivon Universal Camera Mount
Camera: Samsung S850
Tripod head: Olivion TRH-11 head
Tripod: Olivon TR-154
Remarks: I find that my camera has to much zoom at 5x, but works well with the zoom eyepeice. I normally use it at the widest setting with 1.2x optical zoom and crop out the little vignetting I get.

I recently upgraded my wee tasco scope and moved on to an Opticron ES80. Well chuffed with it i am. I would like to try the ED glass to see what like. Mind you the old kodak is playing up a bit now and i quite fancy a Fuji f 30 ......mmmm

My Digiscoping set up

Scope: Vanguard 780 platinum
Eyepiece: Vanguard 20x - 80x zoom
Adapter: Vanguard kit Camera Mount
Camera: Nikon D5000
Tripod head: Manfrotto 410 geared head
Tripod: Manfrotto 055X PROB

I have a Vanguard fluid head mount which clamps to the top of edge car window when it is opened. It work very well and has a very smooth action and I would recommend it.

Scope: Swarovski ATS 80 HD
Eyepiece: Swarovski 20-60X S
Adapters: Swarovski UCA + TLS 800 plus Canon T ring
Camera: Canon 50D (Soon to be 7D)
Tripod Head: Manfrotto 501
Tripod: Manfrotto 756B

It will work better than it does. And if it doesn't I will get and use a small camera that does work on the scope and stick to my telephoto lenses on the 7D

I am not convinced a DLSR is the best camera for Digiscoping. I can only use Av mode on the 50D although I have yet to try full manual. The principal trouble is that there is far too much faffing to take pictures of small birds. By the time I have faffed they have gone. 3:)
