Hi Adrian,
Yes,Little Shearwater!A few of us had one off of Galley Head this September.
Know which five as well,or can work them out:Northern Parula,Black-winged Stilt,Whiskered Tern,Squacco Heron and Lesser Grey Shrike?
Harry H

Hi Harry,

When I looked closer I found 13 not on your list:

Squacco Heron
Red footed falcon
Pacific golden plover
Crane
Shorelark
Red throated pipit
Desert Wheatear
Sardinian warbler
Black winged stilt
Greenish warbler
Northern Parula
Pine bunting
Whiskered tern

Hi Adrian,
Crane IS on my list(as Common Crane).Of the other 12,there haven't even been records of 4 since I started twitching(Red-footed Falcon,Desert Wheatear,Sardinian Warbler and Pine Bunting, though I was birding when all of these turned up),an additional 4 haven't really been twitchable in that time period(PGP,RT Pipit,BW Stilt(one flyover at Carrigaline was the only one in the last 8 years!!)and that Parula(only twitchable if one happened to be within 1/2 hour of the site when news broke)),and the remaining 4 were all very distant or on islands(or some other place that for whatever reason was too awkward to get to!):the last Squacco Heron was an elusive bird at Kilcoole which I'd have had to get a train and bus to go for(same story applies to the Glossy Ibis which was there later the same year:see you need that too?),the most recent Shorelark was in NI and I knew nobody going for it,the last few Greenish Warblers have been short stayers on islands and as for the Whiskered Tern at Tac in 1999....can't figure out why none of us here in Cork went for that!!;)
A few surprising omissions on your list so:you must also need BW Teal,Spotted Crake and Tree Pipit, had thought I was one of the only ones to need them?
Harry H

Hi Harry,

Have seen a few tree pipits, didn't cop that one. Need the other two though. Hopefully get to a few more twitches next year, with a bit of luck. Wonder will I ever catch up with you??

Hi Adrian,
Partly guessed you should have had Tree Pipit:will really have to sort that out soon,it's getting embarrassing!;)
I'd say that you may have as much of a chance of catching up with a "Softie" as with me the way things have gone so far this year!Won't see you at the Desert Wheatear twitch this weekend either(he typed hopefully),maybe at the Dusky...?
