Hi all,
Doesn't seem to be too much activity in the Montana section at the moment. I've just moved to Missoula though and was wondering if there were any other birders out there in the area. I've seen some great birds already and found some really nice spots. Feel free to PM me if you're interested in going birding in the area.

Cheers,
Benji

First day out birding

I took a quick trip to Kelly Island here in Missoula today. Considering I've been stuck up on a small piece of land in Alaska all summer, I was able to add quite a few new year birds in just a couple of hours. It's a beautiful little piece of land right on the western edge of town.

The highlights for me were Lewis's Woodpecker and MacGillivray's Warbler; both lifers for me as I've spent very little time in the Western US.

Other new year birds for me were Grey Catbird, American Redstart, and American Goldfinch.
