when you see a bird you can't identify? Here in central Florida I don't see a lot of song birds. A few mockingbirds, cardinals and the occasional blue jay. Well this morning we had a whole flock of starling sized birds land in my backyard. Very unusual!! They did have some starling marks on them but, after years of living in Massachusetts, I think I'd know a starling when I see one. These weren't them. Add on to that it was a gray rainy day here so the light was bad.

I'm not looking for an answer to what they were, just ranting about seeing something unique and not knowing what I really saw. |^|

Virgo10, you can´t give up this easily! Finding out what they were is what it´s all about! What else can you tell us about them...markings, size, etc. etc. etc. What kind of starling-like markings did they have? And what was it about them that convinced you they weren´t starlings? We´ll figure it out (well, serious U.S. birders will)...remember, we´re in this obsession together!!!;)
