Hello Chaps

just returned from an appartment overlooking the golf course at Los Cristianos.

Can anyone help with the following as I guess that both African & European birds are present in the Canaries.

1. Small grey heron ( darker on top) - looked like a Night Heron

2. Parrot / paraquette - bright green with black flashes on wings- small flock of 15-20.

3. Finch size- Olive green, with a red flash on the forehead.

Any help will be much appreciated

Regards

would need some more info to id these, the heron could be a Grey Heron from that little description, it's common on Tenerife, Night Heron is also a possibility. As for the others, trouble is with the Canaries is that there are so many escaped birds that manage to survive in the wild, plenty of odd cagebirds just wandering around. Monk Parakeet is established, it has a grey breast and a blue patch in the wings.
