Guess I'm still baffled as why want what isn't out there...... From what SteveC posted I would be trying the "new" ZRS if I was wanting a nice low cost wide FOV 8x bin.

I know this is not ED glass but - how are the Vortex Fury 6.5x32 Binoculars too?

Are the 6.5 Vortex Fury's image sharper than my 8x Monarchs? The $250 price range of the Fury is attractive.

The new ZRS HD 8x42 looks like a good alternative. It will be interesting to see how it compares against Viper
