Just back from a day at Blacktoft Sands. Loads of waders on show. It was a delight to see a hundred or more snipe, 1 greenshank, 2 green sand, little stint, dunlin, tree sparrows, pintail, spotted redshank, curlew sandpipers, marsh harrier sparrowhawk etc... And a lovely day to be out too. Very warm. I 'spect our next trip will be when we go to Mull in a week or so.

Sounds like a great day, Sandra. Some great birds. Two im still to see myself are the Spotted Redshank and Marsh Harrier. Thanks for sharing your day with us..... :t:

Hi Sandra, long time since i visited Blacktoft Sands Spotshank and Curlew Sand few and far between up here in Northumberland at the moment sounds like you have had a good day out.

Regards Cuddy.

Sandra, yes it is great to see the waders when the tide is calm as it is at the moment.I enjoy the evening tide when the sun is setting, and the birds are all congregating at the waters edge, and one can hear the different calls echoing into the still of the night.Magic.
