Hi all.

Just a quick intro. I have been birding for coming up to fifty years and have been fortunate enough to have travelled in quite a few countries. I'm not a great 'twitcher' of rarities normally, but if something turns up within a reasonable distance of my home town I won't turn it down! A good example was the Oriental Pratincole of 1993 which was found (not by me, unfortunately!) about 10 minutes drive from my home.

Best wishes,

Perry

Hi Perry,

Welcome to Birdforum.

Your just a youngster then. Well done on the Oriental Pratincole, I am much the same as you if it is nearby I will have a look at it. A few years ago we had the breeding Bee eaters about 10 miles away.
