I am thrilled to be visiting Washington in mid May to visit family and do some birding. It will be my first time in the area and am staying near Rock Creek Park.

Any thoughts on what I might see and the best place to go birding?

That's good. The best area in the park for migrant birds is near the nature center, which is off Military Road between Nebraska Avenue and 16th St. NW.
